About MELINDA:

Melinda is passionate about working together with her patients and tailoring each treatment
to help them accomplish a greater sense of health and wellbeing.

Melinda McDonald is an experienced, highly qualified and fully accredited practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Melinda graduated with a High Distinction in an extensive 4 year Bachelor of Health Science degree in TCM at the renowned University of Technology Sydney where she was the recipient of several scholarships and awards for "Excellence in Studies". In addition to the extensive clinical internship program at UTS, Melinda also enhanced her training and completed a clinical internship in TCM in one of the largest and highly esteemed hospitals in Beijing (China-Japan Friendship Hospital), where modern Chinese medicine and Western biomedicine are integrated. Melinda continues to be mentored under highly experienced TCM practitioners and regularly pursues further training to deepen her knowledge and techniques in this 'fine art of healing'.

In addition, Melinda also holds a Science degree majoring in Psychology from the University of Newcastle, and has utilised this training in a variety of roles, thus bringing a vast array of experience, knowledge and skills to the clinic to provide a more thorough and wholistic treatment.

In harmony with TCM, and utilising her broad background, Melinda aims to treat the 'whole' person
(body, mind and spirit) and restore balance, in addition to alleviating the symptoms of the disease.

Melinda pays very close attention to detail and uses a gentle and interactive approach towards her patients. Melinda will personalise each treatment to the individual and will often beneficially combine (at no additional cost) the different techniques of TCM e.g. acupuncture, cupping, tuina, moxibustion, diet therapy to achieve the most thorough and effective outcomes for the patient.

Recent client testimonials:

"I have been seeing Melinda over the past few months for a variety of conditions – from peri menopausal symptoms to sinus and anxiety issues. All of these conditions have now abated and the improvement in my anxiety in particular has been remarkable – I am a much stronger and happier person since having treatment. Melinda took a very personal and holistic approach in her treatment and I quickly developed a great trust in her and her abilities. Acupuncture is still a mystery to me in terms of how it works – but I am fully convinced of it’s healing properties for physical and emotional conditions. I have no hesitation in recommending Melinda to anyone who wants to improve their overall well being, or for treatment of a specific condition." (Jo Anne, Female, 50 yo)

“I contacted Melinda as a last resort, having been diagnosed with depression and anxiety following several major life events, and hesitant to go down the path of antidepressant medication.  Melinda’s manner is calm and caring and her treatment has made a world of difference to my physical and emotional wellbeing. It has helped restore my energy levels and boost my mood. I firmly believe that TCM played a major role in my recovery and through the course of my treatment, I have felt empowered to learn how to take an holistic approach to ensure the ongoing wellbeing of mind, body and spirit. I have also experienced the benefits of acupuncture and TCM on other physical conditions that have ‘popped up’ during the course of treatment such as minor throat infections and muscular tension.  I cannot recommend Melinda highly enough!” (Danielle, Female, 29 yo)

“Melinda is fabulous. I love acupuncture and think it’s brilliant for a whole host of things and Melinda is the best acupuncturist. She HAS fixed all sorts of niggles but basically I just go to her for the sky-high energy, relaxation, anti-aging and wellbeing benefits – which are enormous and pretty much instant.” (Mystic Medusa, Sydney Astrologer, www.mysticmedusa.com)
